Warren has reserved the meeting campsite: Pine Glen Group Site #11 for Friday June 27 and 28th for those that want to ride in on Friday. He advises there are a number of people planning to arrive Friday.
The election meeting and dinner will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday in the Austria Hof restaurant located at 924 Canyon Blvd. in Mammoth Lakes.
The Schulman Grove Visitor Center in the White Mountains, less than a decade old, was burned to the ground by arsonist on Thursday, September 4, 2008. By the time the Big Pine Fire Department arrived on scene, the building was a complete loss. The White Mountains are currently at the center of a very emotional debate concerning wilderness designation, the Eastern Sierra and Northern San Gabriel Wild Heritage Act, sponsored by Buck McKeon and Barbara Boxer. The USFS and authorities are investigating.
