Meet Sunday March 14 at:
Scrambl’z Diner
775 E Dunne Ave
Morgan Hill, CA 95037. Breakfast at 8:00AM Ride following breakfast; starts approximately 9:00AM, ends around noon.
Each spring Lee tries to do a ride that goes by several of the reservoirs in the area and this year we’ll see seven of them. The rain this season has filled some of them, and others not so much but it’s fun to see what condition they’re in.
After breakfast we’ll head up past Anderson Lake to Henry Coe State Park and stop to see the view and use the loo. Then back down and north on Oak Glen past the Chesbro Reservoir, onto Uvas past the Calero, then Almaden, Guadalupe and Lexington reservoirs before climbing up to Skyline Blvd for a few miles. Descending past the Stevens Creek Reservoir will put us in Cupertino around noon at the Union 76 station near the interchange of 85 and 280 to make it easy to head home to just about anywhere in the bay area. In addition to the stop at Henry Coe, we’ll take a couple more breaks along the way where there are toilets and room to stretch and chat. The ride is about 90 miles with hairpin turns going up to Henry Coe, banked sweepers on Oak Glen, rolling hills on McKean and a little bit of Skyline Blvd. Lots of long stretches of little roads through beautiful country. Everything is green and clean, and the roads are in good condition so it’s a beautiful thing. This ride will be at a casual pace but the route will definitely work the parts of the tire that don’t get used on the freeway.
It looks like the weather will be clear for Sunday, so come on out and enjoy that BMW.
