Pre-registration is now open for the 49er Rally in Auburn, May 23-36, 2008.
It's confirmed- this year's Rally will be in Auburn, Memorial Day Weekend- May 23-26. New speakers, events and entertainment is on tap- more details to follow.
Gate attendance this year was 861, this is about 100 more than last year, so a great turnout.

Note: The club gives out the unclaimed awards and prizes based on the 50-50 raffle income at the June Campout/Election meeting at Lake Alamanor on June 23rd. There will be lots of prizes, so most attendees should win something. I'll have the details posted soon.
I just got a report that pre-registrations as of last week were over 500!

Saturday Jim Thurber will be leading a ride via Highway 49 over Yuba Summit (!!!) and down thru Truckee to the Old Donnor Pass Road and thence to the Chinese built Railroad Tunnels from the first Transcontinental Railroad (thank you Theodore Judah) where they'll hopefully be open and not blocked by tons of snow. Meet near Rally Registration Saturday 10am.

Greg Frazier confirmed as a speaker for Sat. and Sun.(May 26-27). He will give a presentation about his 3 or 4 round-the-world trips and some of the exotic tours he leads now.
Also Phil Douglas from Aftershocks for Sat. or Sun. Phil will put on a seminar about bike suspensions and how to improve, adjust, diagnose your ride. Aftershocks is one of the premier suspension experts in the country.
