Morro Bay - Tour to Meeting

The BMW Club of Northern California March club meeting will be held at Morro Bay State Park, group camp site GCHO at 5:00pm on 3/27.

The club ride will be leaving from Bill’s Café in Willow Glen (115 Willow Street, San Jose,  at 9:00am.  This is a popular breakfast spot so be there by 8:00am if you want breakfast.   There is a Valero across the street so you can fill up there.  

The routes still needs to be planned but my current thoughts are we will head down HW25 and take Indian Valley road. Lunch will be in Paso Robles. The final destination is Morro Bay SP group camp site GCHO.

If you are a new rider please check in with the ride leader, Dave Halliwell (925-353-0101).  The club rides staggered formation on the freeway and single file through the twisties.  Safety is a primary concern so always ride to your own skill level.  Leave plenty of space between you and the rider in front of you. Please gas up before the ride leaves at 9:00am.

Lake Natoma - Feb Meeting

The February Group meeting is at Lake Natoma. The is a regulating reservoir for releases from Folsom Lake. Meeting and camping will be at Negro Bar, Group site GNBC.
 
The  Club ride will leave from the Denny's in Antioch at 2006 Somersville Road on Saturday February 27th at 9:00am. 

We will ride through the delta and then cut over to Ione. We will meander through the Sierra foothills and work our way up to Lake Natoma . We should arrive by 4:00 with the club meeting to occur at 5:00.

Members should arrive at Denny's with a full tank of gas. Route sheets will be provided and first time riders should check in with Dave Halliwell (925-353-0101) before the ride. There will be a toll collected at the Antioch Bridge from each rider. I believe the toll for this ride will be is $4, the state will be raising fees to $5, so no guarantees on toll prices. 

Riders should always put safety first and ride their own ride. We ride a staggered formation on the freeways and go to single file on the back roads.
 

Mt. Diablo - January 30th Meeting and Ride

This months Members meeting is at Mt Diablo State Park. There are no plans for an organized dinner. Danville is a 20 minute ride down the mountain and has many fine restaurants for your dining pleasure

 

The January Club ride will be leaving from Denny's (2482 Berryessa Road, San Jose) at 9:00am Jan 30th. The destination will be Mount Diablo group site GBUY.  The state park has an admission fee and members will have to pay their own entrance fees to the park.

 

The ride will go over Mount Hamilton and then out by Carnegie. We will work our way back over to Livermore and then take Morgan Territory road over to Clayton and come into Mount Diablo from the north road.  This is a short ride of about 152 miles and 4 hours 40 minutes. We will stop at the junction and probably have lunch in Livermore.

Arroy Seco - December 5th

The November Club Meeting has been moved to December 5th.
 
The  group ride will be leaving from Alice's Restaurant at 9:00am. The restaurant is located at 17288 Skyline Blvd, Woodside, Ca.

The destination will be Arroyo Seca, Los Padres National Forest.

Oktoberfest at Cobb Mountain on October 17th

The Members Meeting and Oktoberfest will be held at Cobb Mountain on October 17th. The meeting will be at 5:00 followed by the Oktoberfest.

The club will be providing beer and food.  Please let Dave Halliwell know if you are planning on attending.  davidhalliwell@yahoo.com or 510-304-2507. Free for members, $10 for spouse/significant others, $20 for non members. Guests are welcome!

This is a family resort so people can bring a swimming trunks if the weather is good.

The Group ride will be a short one. Leaving from Denny's, 5839 Paradise Drive, Corta Madera at 10:00 with the goal of getting to the campground at 4:00. The destination is Jellystone Park at Cobb Mountain, 14117 Bottle Rock Road, Cobb, Ca. Cobb Mountain is between Middletown and Clear Lake.

Oktoberfest Meeting- Still Need Location

The Club is still looking for a campground location for Oktoberfest (Oct 17 Meeting). See Dave's post and let him know if you have recommendations. This is planned to be a catered event, similar to last year.

Mammoth Lakes - September Meeting and Ride

The Sept 26th Club Meeting will be held at Pine Glen, Inyo National Forest near Mammoth Lakes at 5:00pm.

The group ride will be leaving from the Denny's in Antioch at 2006 Sommersville Road at 9:00am. Please be ready to leave promptly at 9:00am with a full tank of gas.

This site is within walking distance of restaurants and stores in Mammoth Lakes.

Directions to the camp site : Take US 395 to state 203. Proceed West on 203 for 2.8 miles to the Sawmill cutoff road. Proceed north, right turn for 0.1 mile, turn right. Proceed to the rear of the New Shady Rest CG near site #127 to the entrance of Pine Glenn Campground.  We have sites #14 & #15.

Fort Bragg - August 29 Update and Ride

We need a head count for campsites and dinner. Here's Dave's request:

The August 29th club ride will be leaving the Pleasanton Denny's and riding to the Pomo Campgrounds in Fort Bragg. This weekend is the week before the ROL and it is difficult to judge attendence for planning purposes.

The Pomo campground is a private campground and does not have a group camp site.

Please let Dave know if you plan on attending and need a camp site so that I can make the appropriate number of reservations.

Similarly, the club meeting will be held at the North Coast Brewing Company in Fort Bragg at 5:00pm on August 29th.  I need a head count of who will be attending the club meeting so I can make the appropriate number of dinner reservations.  They can't do individual checks so bring cash to settle your part of the bill and expect to pay a 15% gratuity.

Please email or call Dave Halliwell at 510-304-2507 and let him know if you will be attending the club meeting and need a camp site.   Those who register in advance will get priority for camp sites and food.

Fort Bragg - August 29

The August Members Meeting and campout will be at Pomo Campground at 17999 Tregoning Lane, Fort Bragg, Ca 95437.  We will have camp sites E-L.  

The August ride will be leaving Denny's in Pleasanton at 9:00am 8/29.
